A large portion of why people want to socialize with each other online is to find people to date, hook up with, flirt, have relationships with, etc. Well don’t just sign up and wonder why the masses are not flocking towards you. If you are having trouble attracting potential mates with your profile, and the messages you send out often don’t get replies, then I have some simple tips for you on how to really reel them in. First of all, and I think most importantly is your photo. You need a photo. Sure, some say that looks are not everything but most people need to visualize you in order for them to feel any connection or even for you to appear as a real person in their mind. No matter what you look like, a presentable photo will make a huge difference. There is no shame in trying to make yourself look good. Put up your best! How to take a good photo of yourself? Lighting is key as every photographer knows. Even with a simple digital point and shoot you should be able to do pretty well if you try to capture yourself in good natural lighting. A low contrast background, perhaps a curtain or a wall, will really make you stand out. Try to keep your hands steady. And there is no shame in taking many many photos of yourself and then selecting a few of the best. The more you take the more likely you are to get something that really captures your true beauty.

Another thing, don’t be boring. “But i’m not boring!” You may say. “I like to have fun, go out, hang out with my friends, watch movies, and listen to music!” That tells us.. nothing. Everyone likes to have fun, who wouldn’t? You need to give some specific examples. Maybe you like to play scrabble, maybe you like to paint landscapes or go out clubbing. That tells me something. Maybe it tells me we have some things in common. What movies do you like? You need to say something that is not quite as general as you like watching movies because that is really dull. How do you expect any person to have interest in you if you don’t let your personality shine?

You know how people in real life are always saying how they find confidence attractive? How they like people that are happy and independent and motivated to accomplish their goals? Well the same applies to your online profile. Talk about your ambitions and what you are happy doing! The positive energy you create will have a good lasting impression on the person reading it. It could make them smile and feel good. They will want to be with you to share in the positives.
